Antidepressants cause severe damage to human mental and physical health

There are numerous very dangerous side effects to antidepressant medications - also called Selective Seratonin Reintake Inhibitors, or SSRI.

These side effects are devastiting to the mental and physical health of tens of millions of people across the world. The health care costs associated with treating these side effects are staggering and a financial burden on society. That now millions of children and adolescents are prescribed these mood altering medications is a widescale health tragedy.

Common brand name antidepressants include Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Luvox, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Effexor, Lexapro, Elavil, Remeron, Strattera and Sarafem.

Significant Weight Gain. Significant weight gain is the hallmark of antidepressant medications use. The added significant weight gain diminishes general physical health and is a contributing factor to other diseases.

Type 2 Diabetes. These antidepressant medications disrupt normal metabolism and can be a major contributing factor in causing Type 2 Diabetes. A large recent study found children and young people who were prescribed antipsychotics were significantly more likely to develop Type 2 Diabetes within the first year of use. Sexual Dysfunction. Antidepressants have been shown to significantly lower testosterone levels and therefore normal sexual funtion.

Suicidal Thoughts and Behavoir. Suicidal thoughts and behavoir are a common side effect when initially taking these meds. By example, a 20 year old young women student at the University of Washington hung herself in the dorm stairway within 10 days of first taking Zoloft.

Hostility/Violence/Aggression/Murder. SSRIs have been found to cause hostile, violent behavoir, including murder. The Institute for Safe Medication Practices found five antidepressants to be among the 10 prescription drugs most disproportionately linked with reports of violent behavior.

British psychiatrist Dr. David Healy has noted that “almost all the school shooters that we know of have either been on or using these drugs or in withdrawal from them.” See Anti-Depressants linked to mass murders

Here are but 2 examples. Columbine mass murderers Eric Harris was taking the antidepressant Luvox and Dylan Klybold was taking Zoloft and Paxil.

James Holmes, who walked into a showing of the latest “Batman” movie in Aurora, Colo., and opened fire, killing 12 and wounding 58 was taking Zoloft.

According to Dr.. Healy, “You can become emotionally numb when you go on these drugs,”. Healy further states. “That means you can do things you wouldn’t normally contemplate doing.”

Birth and Infant Brain Defects. 25 studies of antidepressants use by expectant mothers found antidepressants can cause serious birth defects or premature births. See Maternal Antidepressant use can cause Infant Structural Brain Damage.

Involuntary Movement/Tics. These antidepressant drugs often cause nervous tics. The tics undermine self confidence.

Liver Damage. All antidesssants can cause liver damage. Sometimes the damage is serious and irreversible. The liver plays a key role in our general health and healthy metabolism. See All Antidepressants can cause Liver Damage

Mania, Psychosis and Mental Illness. These medications have been shown to cause a deterioration into more serious mental illness. When antidepressant drugs raise serotonin to an excitotoxin level, the brain reacts in ways similar to mental illness.

Anxiety and Delusional Thinking. Anxiety and delusional thinking is a very common side effect of SSRIs. Often times anti-anxiety medications are prescribed for people taking antidepressants.

Heart Problems. Antidepressant use has been linked to thicker arteries, which could contribute to a greater risk of heart disease and stroke. This is in addition to the already heightened risk for heart disease that accompanies depression.

Medication Dependency. These medications have been proven to be very addictive. Severe withdrawal symptoms are often experienced by those trying to stop taking these drugs.

Fertility. Antidepressants have been found to significantly negatively impact male feritility. Specifically, Zoloft has been proven to significantly reduce sperm concentration and damage sperm quality. See SSRI's (Antidepressants) Negatively Affect Male Fertility

Dizziness, Hallucinations, Nausea. These medications frequenty cause dizziness, hallucinations and nausea.

Mass Media Elite refuse to report the dangerous side effects of antidepressant medications

The Elite in the mass media have made an editorial decision to refuse to report about the dangerous physical and mental side effects of antidepressant medications, or that the use of these medications can lead to a lifetime dependency on antidepressants and side effects related medications. These Elite also refuse to report that most of the mass murders have been committed by teenagers taking these antidepressants. Perhaps the billions of advertising dollars spent by the drug manufacturers cloud the Elite's concern about the public welfare.
