How to Naturally Build Stronger Eyes and Sharper Vision

Your Optometrist will never tell you this.

Just like all disease, vision loss = mitochondrial dysfunction in the eye.
Restore mitochondrial function = restore vision.

If you want stronger eyes and sharper vision, this is what I would do:

Sun gaze and horizon gaze at sunrise.  That doesn’t mean go outside at 8am. That means watch the sun peak over the horizon and stare directly at it for those few moments that it is peaking over horizon line. Once its over the horizon continue to stare at the horizon line (with sun in close peripheral). This takes practice and focus. Try to stare at the horizon line for 60 seconds without breaking. pause. repeat. This helps restore vision and eye strength in many ways.

Eliminate blue light toxicity. If unfiltered blue lit screens don’t feel like they’re assaulting your eyes, that’s a bad sign. Unfiltered blue light wrecks retinal mitochondria. Install red filters (I use IRIS), dim your screens as evening approaches, and wear red tinted blue blockers at night.

Feed your eyes with the right nutrients. Your retina is literally brain tissue and it has the highest mitochondrial density in the body. It works on photoelectric and magnetic principles.

I wrote a post a while back on the importance of DHA. DHA is big here because of its photoelectric effect. It converts LIGHT into electrical signals and structures the water in your retina to improve photoreceptor efficiency. ONLY DHA CAN DO THIS. That is why in 600 million years of eukaryotic evolution no other lipid has replaced it.

Because of that, seafood is non negotiable.

Other nutrients to prioritize:
– vitamin A (retinol)

– astaxanthin
– lutein
– zeaxanthin
– taurine
– Mg
– B vitamins

Get more sunlight throughout day. UV & IR Light = retinal repair.

UV light builds dopamine in the eye, IR light builds melatonin in the eye. Both are essential for ocular regeneration and circadian signaling.

The importance of this extends beyond just vision too. Healthy eyes = healthy brain = healthy mood + sleep.

Respect light and dark. Daytime brightness means nothing without nighttime darkness.

If you can see your hand in front of your face in your bedroom at night, your room is too bright. Full darkness = melatonin release = retinal repair. See also Why Total Darkness Sleep is Best!

Also turn off overhead lighting when the sun goes down. If you must use light, beeswax candles, incandescent bulbs, or zero blue light amber bulbs are better circadian options than standard overhead lighting.

Ground. Grounding + natural magnetic field exposure improve electron flow in the retina.

Your eyes need the Earths magnetism as much as they need the sun’s photons
